Who's excited for the new Transformers Robots in Disguise Cartoon Network show starting March 14th at 6pm? I gotta say I am. I feel like it's 1986 all over again. After watching the pilot episode and playing with some of the cool new Hasbro Transformers toys at the TriBeCa Theater I'm super excited to see where this goes and all the awesome toys that are going to come out of this. We have a new main hero in Bumblebee under the tutelage of Optimus. I'll definitely be planted in front of the tv with transformer in hand waiting to see some Decepticon butt kicking action. Follow along at #TransformersRID on social media for more action!

The Old Man and the Old Moon at The New Victory Theater

I had no idea what I was walking into when I told Thirtymommy I would attend the show The Old Man and the Old Moon at The New Victory Theater. Sitting waiting for the show to start taking in the jumbled stage setup I have to say I was incredibly curious as how this was going to turn out; often when attending child friendly shows they are really childish and annoying and end up being a Thirtydaddy taking on for the team moment. I have the say I was delightfully surprised. The music alone was reason enough to the show; the seven piece cast all played instruments in a bluegrassy/irish folk medley that was fun and added a new dimension to the show.
This imaginative show was a creative telling about the origins of the moon and its phases. The caretaker of the moon, an old man, and his wife find themselves on and odyssey looking for something long forgotten. The puppetry, the use of shadows, music and imaginative storytelling keeps it interesting for the kids but it was done well enough to keep this adults attention and have my imagination following the old man to the ends of the earth. I thoroughly enjoyed this show. Its 90 minutes long, a bit much for my four year, old but right up until he passed out he was engaged. Thirtydaddy gives it a thumbs up. Had "T" been 2 years older im sure he would have appreciated it more.

The 3 HOT Hasbro Must Haves!
*Disclaimer: I was not compensated for this post. I attended a preview event & received complimentary products for review purposes. All opinions are my own.
I might be a little old school but it was the Oldies that captivated me at a recent Hasbro event I attended in NYC. I enjoyed an evening of playing with a variety of Hasbro toys.
The My Monopoly board game (19.99) put a new twist on an old classic. There is a Monopoly for everything. There's a Simpson's Monopoly, a MLB monopoly, there's even and Star Wars monopoly (which is awesome) but now there is a Monopoly just for you. The My Monopoly provides awesome personalization, I mean, who doesn't want their face on Boardwalk? An excellent gift idea for any season and any reason! The Simon Swipe (19.99) is another new twist on an old classic. The mind bending mental memory game has gotten harder but not more complicated and much more fun. It has twice the buttons and a swipe feature that adds a new dimension to gameplay. I picked it up and within seconds I was transported back to 1987 toe to toe with this timeless classic. The Dohvinci design sets (7.99-29.99) round out the must haves. I'm not particularly artistic but with the Dohvinci sets, you don't have to be. It's easy to pick up and doodle or make masterpieces. With a variety of colors and the easy to use dispenser you only limitation is your imagination. -LD |

To the Batmobile!.

Gee Wilickers Batman! When I walked into Ripleys Believe It or Not (Times Square), I was transported back to being 6 years old when I watched repeats of the old Adam West Batman series. At the Mezco Toyz product release, I got a chance to hang out with the vintage Batman and his vintage 1966 Batmobile. I had flashes of shark repellant and Batusis all over again. The Mezco Toyz Batman Classic TV series Mini Mez-Itz Collection was unveiled and a few hundred lucky fans got the opportunity to receive some of these rockin toys. If you are a die hard Batman lover like myself, stay tuned to the same danger time, same danger channel for more from Mezco Toyz!
